• Option for an uncropped theme image. A normal background theme image is always shown at the same height, but the sides are cropped on smaller displays. With this choice, the entire width of the theme image is always visible on the web page, regardless of viewport size. To preserve the aspect ratio, of course, the image must get shorter as it gets narrower. The height of the navigation icons and page titles is checked upon page loading - if they "spill out" of the theme image on the device being used by the site visitor, they are moved below the theme image.
• Removed some now-unnecessary code for deleting obsolete output files.

Links to each of them, if present in the folder menu, show the appropriate navigation icon.
• The depth of the folder menu is now limited. The user may choose the depth, up to a maximum of six levels.

• Parallax theme image coding extensively revised. This was necessary to avoid a catastrophic bug in iOS/Safari. The meaning of the "height" setting for the parallax theme image has changed. It now refers to the percentage of the viewport height that is occupied by the theme image when the page is loaded. It defaults to 100% (i.e, the full page). The minimum is 50% - less than that, and the parallax effect becomes largely invisible, and isn't worth using. In addition, the theme image crop focus in the jAlbum Explore window is now sensitive to the height setting. When opening a saved project, you may find it necessary to adjust the crop focus.
• Positioning of title bar handled differently when using either the parallax or full page theme image.
• If a full page theme image is chosen, it can either scroll with the page, or remain in a fixed position.
• Theme image bounds revised.
• Because of these changes, when an existing project is updated, all subdirectories must be processed. Do not tell jAlbum to process only updated subdirectories. There is no need to do a forced remake of the images, however.
• Some minor bug fixes.

• Multiple coding changes to prevent cross-skin contamination by a careless skin developer. Among other things, all of the CSS attributes have been renamed. When you load an older project, the skin will update any custom code you have included. When you first remake an album that was created with an older version of the skin, you must not choose Process only updated subdirectories. Doing so will produce a badly broken album.
• More thorough cleanup of unneeded output files from earlier versions or from experiments with my other skins.
• Other code cleanup and CSS tweaks.

• Option to allow the site visitor to zoom in on slide images when they are shown smaller than their native size.

• The skin now supports audio clips on slide images. While it is possible to combine background music, a timed slideshow, and audio clips in a single album, none of these things is "aware" of the others, so the results are likely to be somewhat chaotic. This version of the skin can be used with jAlbum 27, but to make use of audio clips, jAlbum 28 is required.
• The skin now allows SVG files to be used as title bar logos, info page images, and background images (in the Custom style).
• Simplified, faster processing of title bar logos and info page images.

• You may now specify a maximum width for page titles and slide captions. Allowing the thumbnails and slide images to occupy most of the width of a large monitor is fine, but allowing titles and captions to spread that far makes them difficult to read.
• The maximum width of text placed above and below the thumbnails is now expressed as a pixel count, rather than as a percentage of the page width. Values in prior projects are converted upon loading.
• Better handling of long captions on floated thumbnails.
• The skin now warns you if you include Google maps, but don't provide an API key.
• The skin now disables jAlbum settings that may not be used or are irrelevant in this skin.
• Small change to the skin's hints.jap file.

Version 73, Mar. 25, 2022

• The skin now uses the jAlbum core routines to generate folder thumbnail images, rather than creating them itself. This is more robust, and considerably more efficient. The prior settings for folder thumbnail height and aspect ratio are no longer needed - you may set the folder thumbnail dimensions directly, under Settings » Images » General » Image Bounds » Folders. When older projects are loaded, the skin calculates the correct setting for these bounds. When an older project is made again with this version, the now-unneeded skin-generated thumbnails are removed from the output.
• Option to use a semi-transparent overlay on folder thumbnails.
• Simplified credits line, without jAlbum and skin version numbers - site visitors don't care about versions. If you need to know what version you used to create an album, look at the page code - detailed information is present in a <meta> tag in the <head> section.
• The space bar now starts and stops an automated slideshow, if one is included in the album.
• Simplified font stacks.
• Some minor CSS cleanup.

Version 72, Feb. 6, 2022

• Revised handling of the audio control bar. The controls are now visible when the page is launched, and fade out after five seconds. Clicking the "musical note" icon causes them to reappear for five seconds, then fade out.
• Some small changes to various CSS attributes, to knock the sharp corners off boxes (around floated thumbnails, the slide display, and maps).
• This is the last version that is compatible with jAlbum 25/26.

• Option to restrict display of the credit links to the top level of the album, if they're included.
• Option to include ALT attributes on thumbnail images, for search engines. If this option is chosen, an entered title for a folder or image is used as the ALT attribute. If no title has been entered, the file name is used. If this option it not chosen, the ALT attribute is still present (it's required for HTML validation), but is empty.
• Minor code cleanup.
• Fix for a bug in the sizing of the generic PDF icon when using fixed shape thumbnails.

• You may now choose the type of transition between images, which in earlier versions was restricted to a crossfade. On a mobile device, a "slide" transition is always used (as it has been in prior versions), regardless of the choice made for desktop visitors.

• This version takes a different approach to solving the compromises necessary to produce a justified gallery of non-fixed shape thumbnails. It now sets the target row height equal to the thumbnail image bounds height, sets a maximum row height 20% higher than that, and avoids out-of-focus thumbnails by using HiDPI thumbnail images. The default thumbnail image bounds have been reduced, to compensate for these changes.

  But an existing album that was not using fixed shape thumbnails will now display the thumbnails considerably larger unless the image bounds are reduced by one-quarter to one-third.

  If your project had 360x240 thumbnails, and it does not use fixed shape thumbnails, resetting the bounds to 270x180 will approximate the layout of the existing album. These changes will involve at least one reprocessing of all the images in an existing project, unfortunately.

• When choosing fixed shape thumbnails, you now have the option of displaying the thumbnail caption (if any) superimposed on the thumbnail image, or below it.
• Floated thumbnails are now always shown with a colored thumbnail surround. If you insist upon eliminating this (which produces a terrible-looking page), you can choose the Custom style and set the surround color to match the body color.
• More selective CSS generation.

• Option to place the image counter below the caption on the slide image.
• Thumbnail captions are now line-clamped by default, to a maximum of two lines of title and two lines of comment. The user can override this. On mobile devices, the line-clamping is forced.

The default is now to have the side arrows turned off.

• Changes in the handling of the Dark and Light styles. With these styles, the padding around the slide image would be the same color as the dimming background. This would then give the appearance of icons seeming to be positioned badly, and of the slide caption seeming to be too far below (or above) the slide image. Therefore, if either of these two styles is chosen, the padding setting, shadow opacity, and caption separation are ignored, unless you also elect to use a lightbox border. There will be no padding or shadow on the image, and the caption will appear directly below (or above) the slide image.
• Option to limit the title and comment shown on a thumbnail to two lines each, with the overflow being replaced by an ellipsis. The full title and comment are still shown in the slide caption.

• Extensively revised layout of the slide caption. All navigation icons - metadata, globe for map, download, play/pause for slideshow, and close - now appear on a single line, rather than being split. The metadata, globe, and download icons appear to the left of the caption, and play/pause and close appear to the right.
• The slide caption may now be separated from the slide image frame by 0px to 20px. By default, it's set to 5px. See Neptune » Slides » Caption » Caption separation.
• In order to accommodate these improvements, the slide caption and navigation icons can be placed either below (the default) or above the slide image. The more flexible positioning options (top left, top center, top right, etc.) had to be sacrificed.

• Option to use fixed-shape thumbnails. If you select this option, you can also specify the content of thumbnail tooltips and control more of the font characteristics of thumbnail captions (link decoration and text shadow).

  If you are modifying an existing Neptune project, and change to fixed-shape thumbnails, the thumbnail image bounds should be checked before making an album.

  For justified thumbnails, high aspect ratios work best, like 1000x250. But for fixed-shape thumbnails, more normal thumbnail image bounds should be chosen, like 300x200 or 180x180.

• Option, when not using fixed-shape thumbnails, to constrain the aspect ratio (width divided by height) of the thumbnails, with a minimum of 0.5 and a maximum of 2.5. This prevents panoramic images and exceptionally tall, skinny images from producing thumbnails with extreme aspect ratios, which tend to distort the thumbnail table layout.
• Completely revised method for handling folders and PDF's that don't have a representing thumbnail image. This includes the ability, when using the Custom style, to specify the background color behind the generic folder or PDF icon; preset styles use a color-matched background.

• Option not to hide the image counter on mobile devices (to save space, hiding the counter was the default in earlier versions).
